William Khoury founded Transworld International Freight Services in December 1995. It was undertaken at the express request of several large Middle East business consortiums who required a UK based freight forwarder and trading arm to work closely with them. Specifically, they needed to work with a partner that could:-
- Speak fluent English and Arabic
- Had detailed knowledge of the Middle East market
- Was prepared to work at the weekend
- Was prepared to communicate in sympathy with the local time difference
- Was prepared to give a specialised service to the area
Since its conception Transworld has grown from a very modest beginning to one of the more prominent operations in the UK and today its client base includes five of the “Top 100 Middle East Customers”.
Although William Khoury now employs his own staff, he still personally oversees every transaction handled by his company. His reputation for honesty and his entrepreneurial flair has gained him the respect and trust of some of the Middle East’s major buying houses and he now acts as both procurement and shipping agent for them. This means that he accepts an enquiry for the purchase of goods from a major store in the Gulf, sources the best products available, purchases them and ships them out to the client. Thus, on behalf of his clients, he has complete control ensuring that the right goods arrive in the right place, at the right time, at the right price and in the right condition.
His knowledge of the Middle East has resulted in UK clients who are looking for a Middle East Market also availing themselves of his services to sell their goods. This export department of the business has expanded tremendously in the last two years and Transworld now boasts a very large client base of satisfied customers who regard the company as their major export asset.
